Courtney serves as the Executive Director of Financial Aid Services(FAS) with the goal of establishing a workforce culture that values enabling student success. OU FAS assists college students and their families as they obtain financial aid options and create financial plans that will allow them to reach their educational goals. It motivates Courtney to know that the department can help ease confusion and overwhelming concerns as students attempt to navigate the financial processes of attending college.
Courtney has worked in student services for 17 years and has been with OU Financial Aid Services for 10 years. Her previous roles at OU include Financial Manager for the Indian Country Child Trauma Center and the OJJDP Tribal Youth Training and Technical Assistance Center, Financial Aid Analyst, and Director of the Student Financial Center.
Courtney holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Oklahoma and a Master of Science from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. She grew up in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, and is a member of the Seneca-Cayuga Nation.
My best advice for a high school junior or senior preparing to apply to college:
I encourage all students to reach out to the Student Financial Center and get to know at least one member of the staff. If you have questions or don’t know what to do next, please don’t hesitate to ask someone in the SFC or contact a MoneyCoach.
