Cathey Simmons Humphreys Distinguished Lecture Series featuring Carole Lindstrom

Join us for an evening with Carole Lindstrom, the New York Times bestselling and Caldecott Medal–winning author whose work has become a powerful voice in contemporary children’s literature. Carole is Anishinaabe/Métis and an enrolled member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Ojibwe. Through her writing, she honors her people by illuminating their beauty, strength, and resilience.

The lecture will take place on Thursday, February 26, from 5:00–6:30pm at the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art, Sandy Bell Gallery with a reception to follow.

Ribbon Pants/Shirt Sewing Workshop

Join us on Thursday, March 26, from 3:30–5:30pm at the Native Nations Event Center, Copeland Hall Room 233 for a hands‑on sewing workshop. Participants will learn how to sew ribbons onto a shirt or pair of pants, guided step‑by‑step in a supportive, creative environment.

Participants must bring their own shirt or pants to customize.
