Wonkyung Jang is an assistant professor in the Department of Instructional Leadership and Academic Curriculum at The University of Oklahoma, specializing in interdisciplinary early care and education (ECE). His interests lie in investigating (1) physical, social, and linguistic environment of early learning classrooms and the relation between enhanced language learning and classroom experiences; and (2) early childhood teachers' well-being. He is particularly interested in how ECE stakeholders can embrace the power of “Big Data” to help children overcome developmental challenges, provide the simple joy of play, support teacher well-being, and tackle pressing social justice challenges.
Fun fact about you: Wonkyung worked as a preschool teacher and language and literacy intervention specialist. "For me, teaching is exhilarating. Young children always inspire me because of their insatiable curiosity and willingness to challenge themselves. And there is really nothing better than seeing my students eager to learn and completely involved in an activity for its own sake." Wonkyung said.
Encouraging note: As an early childhood educator, you are an agent of change who can transform lives of young children and their families. And I hope you will enjoy such beautiful moments and become proud of your profession.
