Professor Teresa DeBacker Retires
Faculty and staff in the Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education gathered on April 28 to celebrate the career of Professor Teresa DeBacker, who retired after 28 years at the University of Oklahoma.
DeBacker came to OU in 1993, after spending time as a K-12 music teacher, English instructor in Japan and instructional roles at the University of Nebraska.
She was promoted to associate professor in 2000, and professor in 2008. From 2008-11 she was department chair in Educational Psychology and began associate dean for for professional education in 2011. During her term as associate dean she led the college through several rounds of accreditation, including the college's most recent accrediation with CAEP.
In 2018, DeBacker stepped down as associate dean and served as interim department chair in Educational Psychology until 2020.
Students Wrap Up Internships
Associate Dean Aiyana Henry and Assistant Professor Rebecca Borden celebrated the end of the semester with their students and interns. Henry works with elemetary education students, while Borden works with world languages education students.
