Record-Breaking OU Giving Day for JRCoE

It was a record-breaking day for the Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education as part of 2021 OU Giving Day on April 13. In one day, the college was able to raise $34,795 for funds such as Education Greatest Needs, Future Teacher Certification, the Education General Scholarship, the Institute for Child Development and Sooner Works.

A large part of the college’s success came thanks to matching gifts from generous donors. An anonymous donor matched $500 in gifts to the Sooner Works program, while the first $500 to the JRCoE’s Greatest Needs fund was matched by Charlotte and Ray Jones. Thanks to Danni and Dan Boz, gifts to the Greatest Needs fund was also matched dollar for dollar, up to $3,000.

In addition, a $7,500 gift from Cathey and Donald Humphreys was unlocked when 45 donors was reached. Nearly 50 people ended up making donations during the event.

The JRCoE is grateful for all of our alumni and friends who made financial contributions and shared the information about our initiatives leading up to and on OU Giving Day. With everything happening in our world right now, we were unsure what to expect on this year’s day of giving. Our JRCoE community provided amazing support. We will utilize this support as we prepare to welcome students and faculty back into the college this fall to learn and work in person.
