This study suggests
that the DOD conduct a survey about how opinion leaders perceive the military.
The results could be used to determine how to most effectively reach the
target audience and opinion leaders through the DOD Websites, and other
media channels.
The proposed survey should
seek to reveal the attitudes of the opinion leaders by random sampling
with an appropriate instrument. A Likert-type scale could reveal
opinions on a continuum from favorable to unfavorable attitudes about military
careers for potential recruits.
We expect to find that
information from the study could be used to tailor Internet sites to better
inform opinion leaders. Information which could stimulate the process
of persuasion in support of the military as a viable career option.
