Rebecca “Becki” Maldonado’s (she/her) Ph.D. and master’s degree are in Instructional Leadership and Academic Curriculum with a concentration in literacy education. She is a critical theorist, whose research agenda focuses on teachers as transformative intellectuals developing and exercising their conscientização to build capacity for change, education as a form as non-violent protest, and the use of interdisciplinary arts integration in the classroom. She is also the editor of Arts Integration and Young Adult Literature: Strategies to Enhance Academic Skills and Empower Student Voice (June 2021).
