OU Daily named hybrid news Crown finalist by Columbia Scholastic Press Association

The Daily, which has served Norman and campus communities as the independent student voice of the University of Oklahoma since 1916, again has been named one of the nation's top college hybrid digital/print newsrooms.

The OU Daily has been named a 2024 Crown Award finalist in the Columbia Scholastic Press Association’s hybrid news category

The Crowns honor the nation’s top student media publications for overall excellence. The other finalists this year in the category, which evaluates news organizations’ collective digital and newspaper work, were: 

Ball State Daily News
Indiana Daily Student
• The Daily Toreador at Texas Tech
• The Hornet Tribune at Alabama State
The Ithacan at Ithaca College 

This marks the Daily’s eighth consecutive year as a finalist, its longest streak in organization history, per available records. 

Finalists will learn whether they earn Gold or Silver distinctions on March 15 during the association’s convention in New York.
