Brian Bohm
Hydrogeologist and Environmental Sustainability Manager, Apache Corporation
Brian Bohm is Manager of Apache’s North American Unconventional Resource water resource team responsible for sourcing water for E&P operations and managing the water produced with hydrocarbons in the Delaware Basin of West Texas. In less than two years since the initial discovery well of the Alpine High field, my team has sourced a projected 30 million barrels of water for 2018 with over 90% coming from non-potable water sources. In Alpine High recycling of produced water has allowed for 85% of the produced water in the field to be reused in completions (hydraulic fracturing). This is the principal water management strategy designed to protect ecologically sensitive groundwater in the Alpine High area.
Outside of work, Bohm prefer to spend time outdoors, either camping on the beach along the Gulf of Mexico, hiking the Texas hill country, or off-roading.
