Professor Shad Satterthwaite is the director of executive business programs in aerospace and defense. He and his wife, Valerie, have three children, three in-law children, and two grandchildren. Before joining the Gene Rainbolt Graduate School of Business, he served as associate dean for OU Extended Campus and assistant vice president for continuing education academic programs. He taught courses in the political science department and managed the faculty-in-residence program at the University of Oklahoma. He currently serves as the faculty advisor to the OU Student Veterans Association.
Satterthwaite is a retired colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves and served two tours in Afghanistan. His last assignment was as a faculty instructor at the Army War College. Satterthwaite has been named a Foundation for Defense of Democracies Academic Fellow and recognized as an outstanding mentor in the President’s Distinguished Faculty Mentoring Program. He also received the UOSA Outstanding Faculty Award. He has published articles on political science, public administration, the media, and voting behavior.
The University of Oklahoma Michael F. Price College of Business has experienced significant growth over the past five years, becoming OU’s second-largest college with over 5,800 students.
