Dr. Marisa Flores earned her bachelor's degree in Communication Studies from the University of Texas at Austin, her master's degree in Communication Studies from Texas State University, and her Ph.D. in Organizational Communication from the University of Oklahoma. She is returning to OU after serving as the Director of Communication and Research for a vocational and medical rehabilitation company and has been working in higher education for the last two decades. Dr. Flores loves applying her teaching and communication skills to help lead students and business professionals on their journey to communicate for impact.
Dr. Flores has studied under the direction of leading scholars in business and communication, including Ryan Bisel, Sunny Lee, Mark Bolino, and Michael Kramer. Dr. Flores' research interests focus on communicating about ethics in the workplace, organizational citizenship behaviors, and organizational temporality. Her co-authored works have been published in top communication and business journals, including the Academy of Management Journal, Management Communication Quarterly, and Harvard Business Review.
