About Flores

Dr. Jason Flores joined the Price College of Business’ Division of Marketing and Supply Chain Management as a Senior Lecturer in January 2026.  Prior to joining the University of Oklahoma, he was a professor of marketing and, for almost a decade, held the position of the Norick Brothers’ Distinguished Professor of Marketing Chair at Oklahoma City University’s Meinders School of Business. 

Beginning in 2023, Dr. Flores entered private practice, where he served as the Director of Strategy and Client Relations for a medical and vocational rehabilitation and case management firm in Texas.  In 2015, he founded and remains the principal owner of Otter Way Consulting, through which he’s assisted clients in the non-profit, medical, aviation, energy, and entertainment sectors.  Though he enjoys and appreciates marketing practice, Dr. Flores is equally passionate about helping the next generation of marketers prepare for their careers. 

Dr. Flores earned his Ph.D. in marketing and his B.B.A. in management with a minor in finance from the University of Texas – Rio Grande Valley.  His varied background has led to research interests in topics such as co-created value, consumer ethics, corporate and consumer political engagement, strategy, and organizational communication authenticity.  He has published or presented over 25 academic papers in journals such as the Journal of Consumer Marketing and Healthcare Administration Leadership & Management, and at the American Marketing Association and Academy of Marketing Science annual conferences.  His work has received three best paper awards from academic conferences, including the Academy of Marketing Science.
