Dear Colleagues,
As we continue advancing the goals of our “Lead On, University” Strategic Plan and strengthening how we operate as One OU, we are implementing an updated Division of Enrollment Management structure to support OU’s continued growth and momentum. These organizational changes, which will take effect May 1, reflect national best practices and better align how we recruit, admit, and support students across our campuses.
Vice President Jeff Blahnik, who has served OU since 2014 and has led the Division of Enrollment Management since 2019, will expand his role to provide oversight of enrollment functions across all campuses, pending final approval by the OU Board of Regents. Under Jeff’s leadership, the Norman campus has experienced 16.3% enrollment growth since 2019 and five straight years of record-setting freshman classes – a remarkable accomplishment at a time when college enrollment nationwide has declined. As part of this evolution, the OU Health Campus Office of Recruitment and Admissions will move into the Division of Enrollment Management. In addition, this new structure will enhance the way we serve the Tulsa campus and the recently consolidated OU Graduate College, strengthening coordination across our campuses. Together, these changes will improve alignment, consistency, and collaboration while honoring the distinct needs of each program and student population we serve.
This transition represents the latest step in OU’s ongoing work to modernize and align how we recruit, admit, and support students across our Norman, Tulsa, and Oklahoma City programs. On the OU Health Campus, Associate Vice President for Student Affairs Kate Stanton has served for the past 24 months as Interim Associate Vice President for Recruitment and Admissions, reporting to the Health Campus Provost’s Office. During that time, she has led important efforts to restructure and revitalize recruitment and admissions processes in our Health programs – optimizing recruiting resources, removing barriers to admission, and improving the admissions experience. Through this work, Kate and the team have played a pivotal role in building a cohesive and collaborative recruitment and admissions program, laying essential groundwork for this transition to a unified Enrollment Management model. These efforts have contributed to record enrollment growth for Health Campus programs and improved student experiences. Moving forward, Kate will continue her leadership in the Division of Student Affairs for the OU Tulsa and Health Campuses including our six additional program sites, supporting initiatives that advance student success and institutional priorities.
Over the coming months, the following leadership and structural updates will support this next phase of OU’s Enrollment Management model:
Throughout these changes, the Division of Enrollment Management will continue to be guided by its values of integrity, care, intentionality, and innovation as it works in partnership with academic units and campus leaders to serve students across all OU campuses.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership and dedication to supporting students across our university.
Live On, University,
Joseph Harroz, Jr.
President
