A Message from President Harroz – Office of Institutional Equity Update

University Seal, The University of Oklahoma, Office of the President
April 18, 2024

Dear Colleagues,

I write to share an update on the leadership of our Office of Institutional Equity. After serving the University of Oklahoma for more than two years as Institutional Equity Officer, Equal Opportunity Officer, and Title IX Coordinator, Christine Taylor has accepted a position at the Husch Blackwell law firm in Milwaukee. Her last day at OU will be May 2.

Christine’s contributions to our university community have been invaluable. Her expertise and collaborative approach have played a pivotal role in fostering a welcoming, safe culture for all. While we are saddened by her departure, we are also excited for her as she returns to her home state of Wisconsin and embraces this new opportunity closer to her family.

Our search for our next Institutional Equity Officer will begin immediately. In the meantime, Marci Gracey from our Office of Legal Counsel will serve as Interim Institutional Equity Officer, Equal Opportunity Officer, and Title IX Coordinator, effective April 20. Marci has been an integral part of our legal team since 2021, and she brings a wealth of knowledge and legal acumen spanning a wide range of areas, including anti-discrimination law, employee relations, and student conduct. Last year, she obtained the Title IX Coordinator and Administrator Level One Certification from the Association of Title IX Administrators (ATIXA), the nation’s leading membership organization for Title IX professionals, further underscoring her qualifications for this role.

Please join me in sending our best wishes to Christine and in congratulating Marci on her interim appointment.

Live On, University,

Joseph Harroz, Jr.
President
