We’re excited to offer four weeks of Horizons this summer! Horizons is a week-long, immersive program designed for rising 7th and 8th graders eager to explore collegiate fields of study. Through hands-on experiences led by OU faculty and staff, students will gain a deeper understanding of academic disciplines while engaging in meaningful, interactive learning.
Each week is centered around a different area of study—Earth Science, Arts and Humanities, Engineering, and Fine Arts—giving students the opportunity to explore new interests in a dynamic and supportive environment. From investigating geological formations to designing engineering prototypes or expressing creativity through the arts, students will be actively engaged in learning that sparks curiosity and critical thinking.
By working alongside university faculty and experiencing a snapshot of a OU Student, our rising 7th and 8th graders will begin to see themselves as part of the academic world. Horizons is more than just a summer camp—it’s a space where young learners connect with new ideas, build confidence in their abilities, and take steps toward a future shaped by higher education and lifelong learning.

Horizons invites students to explore exciting sessions in Earth Science, Engineering, Arts and Humanities, and Fine Arts. During Earth Science, students will dive into the worlds of geology, meteorology, and geography, discovering how our planet works and why it matters. In Arts and Humanities, students will tap into their creativity through writing, explore the human mind with psychology, and consider the impact of political science and public policy. Engineering sessions will give students the chance to design, build, and problem-solve through hands-on experiences in civil engineering, mechanical and aerospace engineering, and computer science. For those interested in creative expression, Fine Arts offers opportunities to develop skills in visual art, drama, and music.
A detailed catalog with full descriptions of each course will be available soon.
