The College of Professional and Continuing Studies will host the 2026 Feaver-MacMinn Seminar on April 25–26, bringing students, faculty, and industry leaders together for two days of presentations, discussions, and hands-on exploration of applied artificial intelligence. The endowed seminar honors the legacy of J. Clayton Feaver and Paul MacMinn, two influential OU faculty members whose commitment to inquiry and student engagement continues to guide this event.
This year’s seminar features three prominent voices in AI: Dr. Asim Ali of Auburn University, Dr. Shishir Shah of the University of Oklahoma, and Dr. Kyle Jones, an industry expert whose work spans Databricks, AWS, and ExxonMobil. Through keynote talks, themed breakout sessions, and a closing panel, the speakers will examine emerging ideas in AI practice, responsible deployment, and the future of data-driven decision-making.
On Sunday, students present their work to the speaker panel, connecting course concepts with real-world perspectives. For students enrolled in PSIS 4700: Applied AI in the Workplace, the seminar serves as the capstone learning experience for the term. The Feaver-MacMinn Seminar is free and open to the public, but registration is required to ensure adequate space and materials for all participants.
