Established in 2011, Class Council was created with the intention to serve and unite each class at the University of Oklahoma. Class Council members act as class ambassadors to provide outlets and opportunities for students to engage in the campus culture through social and educational programming.

Class Council was developed as a retention initiative by the Graduation Office to engage students in social opportuinites across the OU's campus. Class Council was moved under the Division of Student Affairs in 2019. Since then, Class Council has collaborated with with various on-campus organizations to facilitate peer-to-peer connections that allow students to find a sense of belonging within their class and the university as a whole, aligning with the mission of Student Affairs.

About Class Council

Class Council Mission & Values

Crimson tree.

The mission of Class Council is to connect students to their peers and the university through social and educational events. Through these events, OU students gain access to resources that will assist and encourage them in their success and persistence at the university.

Class Council aims to remind students that, regardless of whether or not they choose to participate in other organizations, they can always identify and participate as a member of their graduating class.

Unity - Class Council strives to provide a sense of pride among our members and our peers on campus. We want everyone to identify with a cause, group or team on campus and we serve as the resource to get you connected.

Connection - Networking with peers is something that Class Council offers as a way to feel connected to campus. We work towards connecting you to the mission, values, and opportunities at the University to build an affinity for OU and make OU feel like home.

Experience - We encourage all OU students to participate in class experiences with us. These include OU Dance Marathon, Relay for Life, University Sing, Sooner Scandals, The Big Event, etc. This allows us to create an inclusive environment that welcomes all students.

There are many opportunities to connect to the University of Oklahoma as a member of the Class of 2025. Connections made both inside and outside the classroom can lead to an improved experience for students as they transition to OU. These connections can create the foundation for your success at OU and last well beyond your college experience. Look for ways to connect.

VISIT STUDENT LIFE

During your last year of college, you are most likely working on projects or research to showcase as part of your professional portfolio.
