For more than 25 years, OU has hosted Camp Crimson, an orientation experience designed to assist undergraduate students as they transition into their first year at the University of Oklahoma.
Camp Crimson is a 5-Day orientation experience that gives students the opportunity to connect with their new OU community. These days will be packed with engaging activities that will allow students to connect with their peers, get to know campus, learn about OU's history and traditions, complete their first-year trainings, connect with faculty and staff, and attend many amazing events.
Transfer students are able to attend Camp Crimson. For more information, please visit our Transfer student tab.

Camp Crimson is not just a summer orientation camp. It's the beginning of a relationship between new students and the University of Oklahoma. While Camp Crimson is a great way for new students to learn the ins-and-outs of OU, our primary goal is that every camper leaves Camp Crimson feeling that they have been connected with a vital support system to help them succeed.
"I've never felt more at home than I did at Camp Crimson. Not only did this organization give me a family, but it provided me with a safe space to be myself, without judgement or criticism. A place where I could shed the mask and be my authentic self. Joining this organization has been one of the most rewarding things I've ever done at OU, as it has been critical in shaping me into the person I am today." - Mya, past camp Exec Team member
Our camp activities are designed to teach students about college expectations, the OU campus, OU's history and traditions, how to get involved and many other things that will help ease their transition to OU. Students are able to develop connections and know that they've got a support system in place.
Camp Crimson is for all incoming students!
All new freshmen students are automatically opted-in to Step 2 of their Orientation Experience: Camp Crimson. If you would like to opt-out of the experience, the opt- out window will open May 1, 2024 and close July 1, 2024. Students will opt-out on their OU Bound portal.
