OU Students Honored for Achieving Perfect Grade-point Average

NORMAN, Okla. – Thirty-eight students eligible to graduate from the University of Oklahoma in December maintained perfect 4.0 grade-point averages throughout their undergraduate careers at OU. Of the total, more than half are from Oklahoma.

To commemorate their achievement, the students were honored by OU Senior Vice President and Provost André-Denis Wright in a ceremony held Dec. 11 on the Norman campus. Each student who earned an overall 4.0 GPA received a bronze medallion on a crimson ribbon, which may be worn during graduation ceremonies.

New research from University of Oklahoma researchers, published in Cell Reports, reveals that a hormone that reverses obesity in mice appears to work by signaling to a brain region involved in metabolism and appetite regulation, the same area targeted by the popular GLP-1 drugs.
