University of Oklahoma Public Health Master’s Program Is Reaccredited

April 9, 2024

OKLAHOMA CITY – The University of Oklahoma’s Master of Health Administration and Policy — the only MHA degree program offered in Oklahoma — has been reaccredited for a seven-year term by the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education.

“As the only CAHME-accredited MHA program in Oklahoma, we are proud of our commitment to excellence. Our reaccreditation highlights our dedication to providing a comprehensive education that prepares graduates to lead in health care management and policy,” said Dale Bratzler, D.O., MPH, dean of the Hudson College of Public Health, which offers the program.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, health administration is one of the top 10 fastest-growing jobs in the health care industry. Career opportunities in health administration include hospital and health system management; pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies; care management organizations; health information technology firms; health insurers; and many more.

“Receiving CAHME reaccreditation is a testament to our innovative curriculum and dedicated faculty. It reflects our commitment to shaping the next generation of health care leaders, empowering them to excel in a dynamic health care landscape,” said Ganisher Davlyatov, Ph.D., director of the MHA program at the OU College of Public Health.

Since 1968, CAHME has served the public interest by advancing the quality of health care management education globally. CAHME accredits 145 academic programs in management, which has been broadly defined to include health care quality and safety and population health.

CAHME works with academic programs and health care practitioners to ensure that graduates entering the health care field have undergone an educational process meeting rigorous, measurable standards for effectiveness. The result is a formal academic education focusing on key competencies, plus practical experiences. CAHME is the only organization recognized by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation to grant accreditation to individual academic programs offering a graduate degree in health care management.

“CAHME’s mission is to advance the quality of health care management education globally. CAHME-accredited programs have successfully navigated a complex and careful accreditation process managed by experts in the study and practice of health care management,” said CEO Anthony Stanowski, who holds a doctoral degree in health administration. “The program meets rigorous standards set by leading academics and practitioners. We recognize their commitment to the field.”
