NORMAN Three members of the Oklahoma volleyball team have been named to the 2022 All-Big 12 teams, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.

Sophomore Megan Wilson and freshmen Morgan Perkins and Alexis Shelton were all recognized by the conference for their efforts this season. Wilson earned her second All-Big 12 honor after being named to the All-Rookie Team last season. Perkins and Shelton were both named to the All-Rookie team with Perkins as a unanimous selection and becoming the first Sooner in program history to win multiple All-Big 12 honors in the same season.

Wilson led the Sooners on the year with 368 kills to rank second in the Big 12 and moved up to eighth overall in the record books for kills in a single season. Her 3.64 kills per set also ranked fifth in the league. The Kingwood, Texas native recorded double-digit kills in all but four matches in 2022 and earned a career-high 0.500 hitting percentage against Texas Southern on Sept. 16. Wilson also finished second in the conference with 464.5 points and 4.60 points per set.

She set a program record for service aces in a single season with 56. Wilson ended the regular season as the best player in the Big 12 in service aces and 0.55 service aces per set, while ranked 10th and 14th nationally, respectively. She also set a career-high five service aces four-times this season and holds the record for service aces in a three-set match.

Defensively, Wilson hit career-highs with 15 digs, seven blocks and seven block assists this season. Wilson has earned six conference weekly awards during her career, including a pair of Offensive Player of the Week awards. Wilson became the first player to earn First Team conference honors since Guewe Diouf in 2020.

Perkins was a force for the Sooners on defense with 111 blocks, putting her first on the team and the best freshman in the Big 12, which puts her fourth in the conference in blocks per set with 1.16. With a career-high 11 block assists, she holds the record for that in a three-set match.

The Rosharon, Texas native is also the best freshman in the Big 12 with a .416 hitting percentage and second overall in the Big 12 and program history. She also posted a career-high 15 kills against Kansas State on Nov. 16 and earned a perfect 1.000 hitting percentage against Santa Clara on Sept. 9. Perkins earned a pair of Rookie of the Week awards to kick off her career at OU in 2022.

Shelton started her Sooner career as the best freshman on the team with 263 kills on the season. She posted a career-high 18 kills against Ball State on Sept. 2 and five digs against Nevada on Sept. 16. Shelton played in 94 sets out of 28 matches for her freshman campaign. She earned a career-high .700 clip against Tulane on Sept. 10. Defensively, Shelton also posted 40 total blocks on the season, finishing fifth among the Sooners in 2022.
