HSP Scholar Spotlight: Amir Dennis

Class of 2028
HSP Scholar, Amir Dennis.

Now at the halfway point of the year, HSP’s First Year scholars have been involved and busy throughout their first semester at OU. Get to know Amir Dennis, one such First Year who is already making impacts on the program.

Amir is a psychology major and, outside of HSP, is involved in Psychology Club as working on campus. In his free time, he likes to watch movies and go on walks, and you can probably find him with Leon Bridges playing on his headphones!

Amir has had the opportunity to live in HSP’s Living-Learning Community this year. Surrounded by other First-Year Scholars, the LLC gives them the opportunity to collaborate and interact with each other in unique and meaningful ways. His favorite aspect of the LLC is how tight-knit the floor is!

One of the greatest things he’s learned so far from being a Henderson Scholar is how to ask for help. Amir notes, “HSP is a community, and there is aways someone willing to help you out.”

About the Henderson Scholars Program

In 1999 there was a vision to honor Dr. George Henderson by establishing a scholarship program in his name. This vision became a reality in 2001, the Henderson Scholars Program officially came into fruition. For more information visit ou.edu/hsp.
