The Gibbs College of Architecture is pleased to announce that Camille Germany, Chief of Staff, has been named the 2026 recipient of the university-wide Jennifer L. Wise Good Stewardship Award.

The Jennifer L. Wise Good Stewardship Award recognizes outstanding staff contributions that exemplify the principles of responsible stewardship. Named in honor of the late Jennifer L. Wise, the award reflects her lasting impact on the University of Oklahoma. The College of Geosciences was established in 1981, and Interim Dean Dr. David Stearns soon hired Jennifer, with whom he worked closely to develop the college’s first budget. Jennifer served as the college’s financial administrator throughout its entire history and played a vital role in the responsible stewardship of university resources. In her memory, this award is presented each spring to an employee who demonstrates exceptional stewardship and service to the University.

Camille has been a driving force behind the college’s growth and operational success since joining in 2016. Beginning as Assistant to the Division Directors, she has expanded her responsibilities, ultimately serving as a key administrative leader across finance, human resources, and accreditation efforts. During a period of significant transition and growth, including a doubling of student and faculty numbers, Camille often served as the sole administrative support for the college, ensuring continuity in critical operations while developing deep expertise in university systems and policies. She has played a central role in mentoring staff, strengthening internal processes, and fostering a collaborative, high-performing work environment. Known for her composure, adaptability, and commitment to service, Camille consistently steps beyond her formal role to support faculty, staff, and students, exemplifying the principles of stewardship and excellence recognized by this award.

“During significant periods of transition within the College of Architecture, Camille has stepped beyond the usual boundaries of her job without hesitation. When personnel have come and gone, she has repeatedly taken on expanded roles to maintain continuity and stability.” said Emily Pierce, Assistant Vice President & Chief of Staff, Office of Administration & Finance, The University of Oklahoma.

“Her work is marked by accuracy, strategic thinking, and a level of administrative competency that elevates the entire college. Camille doesn’t merely complete tasks, she improves systems, safeguards compliance, and sets new standards for operational excellence.”

Please join Gibbs College in congratulating Camille Germany, who is an outstanding steward of the University of Oklahoma’s mission and resources
