Regional and City Planning Professor Publishes Article in Journal of Public Policy and Marketing

Bryce Lowery, associate professor of Regional and City Planning, recently published an article in The Journal of Public Policy & Marketing. The article, “Societal Transformation Through Social Entrepreneurial Action Research,” explores recent research Lowery conducted with collaborators from the San Diego State University Fowler College of Business and School of Public Affairs

The article focuses on the employment of Social Entrepreneurial Action Research (SEAR) to address food security. According to the researchers, there is a growing need for innovative solutions to address the social problems that negatively impact residents’ health and well-being.  

SEAR is a research process that is driven by community stakeholders and focused on ongoing societal transformation. The researchers believe that the SEAR method can be used to address social problems with localized solutions that are community-based and long-lasting.
