Architecture graduate students enrolled in ARCH 5543, “Research and Critical Writing,” Emily Homan and Jamie Leake have collaborated to edit the latest issue of _543: The OU Architectural Theory and Criticism Journal.
For this issue, Homan and Leake have selected four essays:
Essays are authored by students enrolled in Prof. Deborah Richards‘ and Dr. Angela Person‘s Spring 2019 sections of ARCH 4543/5543, “Research and Critical Writing.” This is the third volume of _543, which has appeared each spring semester since 2017.
“Research and Critical Writing” allows upper-division and graduate students in architecture, environmental design and interior design to explore design theory and criticism in a seminar-based environment.

Gibbs College of Architecture Institute for Quality Communities (IQC) Director and Division of Planning, Landscape Architecture, and Design (PLAD) faculty member Amber N. Wiley, Ph.D., recently published a new book, Collective Yearning: Black Women Artists from the Zimmerli Art Museum.
In May, students from the Christopher C. Gibbs College of Architecture's Architecture, Environmental Design, and Interior Design programs participated in an intensive five-day Studio in Residence at Taliesin West, the iconic winter home and desert laboratory of Frank Lloyd Wright.
