Junior Interior Design students enrolled in the “Lighting Design” course recently participated in the 2018-2019 Interior Design Educators Council (IDEC) Student Design Competition, “Sensory Environments: Designing for Independence.”
The competition challenged students to design a small vocational facility that would serve as an educational and training space for individuals with sensory issues.
The team’s project won the IDEC Southwest Region competition and advanced to the national competition. “The judges were highly impressed with the design ideas that were presented in the submissions, and it was a highly competitive process,” said associate professor Mia Kile.
Join us in congratulating team members, Abigail Johnston, Ryan McNitt, and Emily Gold, and Prof. Kile!
