In a recent article published in The Oklahoman, Dean Hans Butzer and his wife Torrey Butzer reflect on their design of the Oklahoma City National Memorial that honors the lives that were lost in the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in downtown Oklahoma City. In the article, the designers describe the clear intention to honor each life individually. In the article, Dean Butzer said, “We wanted to create an individual moment for each of them, rather than band them together on a wall.”
