Construction Science students in Dr. Anthony Perrenoud’s mechanical systems class toured the University of Oklahoma’s main power plant last Monday, April 2. The plant produces the majority of the campus’ steam and chilled water. Additionally, the students got a view of the underground utility tunnels. "The tour of the power plant provides a unique opportunity to see a cogenerating turbine engine that simultaneously creates both steam and electricity for the campus,” said Dr. Perrenoud.
