Students Take Field Trip to TreeHouse, TreeHouse Sustainable Home Improvements and Josey Pavilion

Professors Butko and Hoffner led 4th year Undergraduate and 2nd year Graduate students on a trip to the TreeHouse and Josey Pavilion in Texas. Thank you to Tenna Florian from Lake|Flato and Tom & Melissa Bookhout from Josey.  Students who toured the TreeHouse and Josey Pavilion were also able to tour the TreeHouse Sustainable Home Improvement store in Dallas, designed by Lake|Flato. The tour guide explained the sustainable features of a variety of products and building systems demonstrated by the building and for sale in the store.

University of Oklahoma Student Journal Telesis awarded Graham Foundation Grant

Telesis, the Gibbs College of Architecture’s student journal, has been awarded a grant from the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts to support its next two issues, “Pause” (Volume IX) and “React” (Volume X).

IQC Director’s Book Shortlisted for 2026 MAAH Stone Book Award

Gibbs College of Architecture is pleased to announce that Amber N. Wiley, Ph.D., associate professor in the Division of Planning, Landscape Architecture and Design and director of the Institute for Quality Communities, has been named to the shortlist for the Museum of African American History (MAAH) Stone Book Award for her book, Model Schools in the Model City. The book was one of 14 titles selected from 158 eligible submissions for the 2026 award.
