Landscape Architecture Assistant Professor Dr. Sarah Little and a team of Landscape Architecture graduate assistants spent the Spring 2017 semester researching the experiences of children living with autism, mobility limitations, and vision and hearing impairments to understand how to create an inclusive play environment that is seamless and integrated instead of separate and ‘other.’ Dr. Little applied this research to create the design of an accessible nature play and learning area for the MAPS 3 Lower Park. Her design was recently featured in The Oklahoman.
Telesis, a journal produced by students in the University of Oklahoma Christopher C. Gibbs College of Architecture, has earned first place in the 2026 Douglas Haskell Award for Student Journals for its seventh volume, “Unfold.” This marks the fourth time the publication has earned recognition for excellence in student architectural journalism. It shares the honor with student journals from Columbia University, University of Michigan, and Cal Poly.
