Julie Ann Hornbeek is a lecturer in the Division of Interior Design at the Christopher C. Gibbs College of Architecture at the University of Oklahoma. She brings more than 15 years of professional experience as a Senior Designer with REES in Oklahoma City, where her portfolio spans corporate commercial, higher education, and healthcare projects, along with work in historic preservation, hospitality, and K–12 education.
Hornbeek earned her Bachelor of Interior Design with a minor in Art History from the University of Oklahoma in 2009. She achieved NCIDQ certification in 2013 and has held a Registered Interior Designer license with the State of Oklahoma since 2017.
In the classroom, Hornbeek is committed to equipping students with practical, real-world knowledge and skills that prepare them for successful careers in design. She resides in Oklahoma City with her husband, two children, and their extra-large Labrador, Blue.
