Awilda Rodríguez, a graduate of Arizona State University, is an associate professor of architecture at the Christopher C. Gibbs College of Architecture at The University of Oklahoma. She is a registered architect in the State of Arizona, with over twenty years of expertise in both pedagogy and practicing architecture. Her pedagogy and research have explored urban planning, building design, urban heritage, climate change, and resilient communities.
Notably, she has spearheaded several design collaborations that have been lauded for their innovative approach and significant impact on the communities they serve. Her design pedagogy and research initiatives seek to actively connect university students with international communities, civic groups, governments, and professionals.
These collaborations, driven by her students’ creativity and dedication, have allowed them to address local challenges, promote well-being, economic development, & resilience through architectural design by creating design guidelines and master planning, and generate viable design prospects and recommendations.
