The Gallogly College of Engineering recognizes Major H. M. Imran Kays, Ph.D., an associate professor at the Military Institute of Science and Technology and a major in the Bangladesh Army, for receiving the 2025–2026 Provost’s Doctoral Dissertation Award.

The Provost’s Doctoral Dissertation Award is one of the University of Oklahoma’s highest honors for graduate research. Presented by the Office of the Provost, it recognizes outstanding scholarship and innovation with the potential for meaningful real-world impact.

Kays’ award-winning research, completed at the University of Oklahoma, advances infrastructure resilience by integrating innovative technological solutions with a focus on the human and social dimensions of transportation systems. His work highlights the importance of considering community behavior, equity, and social sustainability in the design and management of resilient infrastructure.

This recognition reflects Kays’ contributions to civil engineering and builds on his collaborations with global organizations such as the National Science Foundation and the United States Agency for International Development. Through this work, he has helped develop solutions that are both technically sound and responsive to societal needs.
