Dr. Shirazi’s research focuses on exploring state-of-the-art statistical and data analytics methods to improve transportation safety and operations. He earned his Ph.D. from Texas A&M University in 2018. Following his doctoral studies, Dr. Shirazi joined the Lab for Innovative Mobility Systems at the University of Michigan as a research fellow. From 2019 to 2024, he was an Assistant Professor at the University of Maine. Dr. Shirazi has led several nationally and state-funded research projects, as PI or Co-PI. Dr. Shirazi’s work has been published in numerous high-impact journals, book chapters, technical reports, and peer-reviewed conference papers.
