OU College of International Studies To Host Leading Academic Journal

September 7, 2023

Beginning in fall 2023, the David L. Boren College of International Studies at the University of Oklahoma will host International Theory, a journal of international politics, law and philosophy. Mark Raymond, Wick Cary Associate Professor of International Relations in the Department of International and Area Studies and Associate Director for International Security Policy at the Oklahoma Aerospace and Defense Innovation Institute, will serve as the journal’s associate editor.

A publication of Cambridge University Press, International Theory is a peer-reviewed journal that promotes theoretical scholarship about the positive, legal and normative aspects of world politics, respectively. The journal is open to theory of all varieties and from all disciplines and welcomes scholarship that uses evidence from the real world to advance theoretical arguments.

“It is an exciting time at the David L. Boren College of International Studies not only because one of our faculty members, Mark Raymond, has taken on a new rolebut also because our college has become the journal’s new university host,” said CIS Dean (Interim) Jonathan Stalling. “IT has been a leading journal in international relations and political science for over a decade, and on September 6th the journal is moving to a full ‘open access’ model, making articles accepted after this date free for readers. We look forward to working with our new colleagues at Cambridge University Press to support the mission of the journal ‘to promote communication and engagement across theoretical and disciplinary traditions.’”
