Jiebei Luo, assistant professor in the University of Oklahoma School of Library and Information Studies, has been named a Co-Principal Investigator on a new Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) National Leadership Grant project, Creating a Multiple-Literacy Scale to Enhance Academic Library Instructional Services.

The project has been awarded $428,159 and will run from 2026 to 2029. Led by Yunfei Du of the University of North Texas, the project aims to develop a framework for assessing multiple literacies, including information, data, AI, health, civic, and cultural literacy, to help academic libraries strengthen instructional services and support student success. Luo's participation reflects her research interests in data literacy, AI literacy, information behavior, and library services.

The project will contribute new tools and evidence-based practices to help academic libraries better serve learners in an increasingly complex information environment.
