Jason Harris, SLIS Faculty- Museum Studies Lecturer, was named President for a two-year term at the annual Mountain-Plains Museum Association (MPMA) conference in Omaha, NE, on October 4.
“I am honored to serve as the President of MPMA as we continue to collaborate and provide sustainable routes forward for museums across the region during these tumultuous times for public institutions. As a longtime museum advocate, I know personally how important these institutions are for their communities and visitors.”
The mission of MPMA is to serve as a regional organization of museums and museum professionals that advocates excellence in the field, provides a forum for communication between its members, and shares creative learning opportunities with the region’s diverse audiences. MPMA is one of six regional museum associations that provide training, networking, information sharing, and advocacy support for museums across the ten-state region.
