The School of Library and Information Studies (SLIS) in partnership with OU Libraries is bringing awareness to Banned Books Week. Banned Books Week celebrates the freedom to read and events will be hosted from Monday, September 23rd through Friday, September 27th with both in-person and online events, see below for details.
Monday, September 23rd to Friday, September 29th: Stop by one of our displays located at the South and West entrance of Bizzell Library for titles to checkout, and other materials.
Tuesday, September 24th, 9:00am-3:30pm CT: Join us on the South oval by the entrance of Bizzell Library to hear readings from banned and challenged books, grab stickers and bookmarks, and celebrate the freedom to read!
Thursday, September 26th, 4:30-5:30pm CT: The School of Library and Information Studies and the University of Oklahoma Libraries invite you to learn firsthand about how librarians advocate for your right to read. Join us on September 26, 2024 at 4:30-5:30 on Zoom to hear their stories.
