Bonnie Pitblado along with current and former students Delaney Cooley, Bobi Deere, Meghan Dudley, Allison McLeod, Kaylyn Moore, and Horvey Palacios published an article entitled “The Oklahoma Public Archaeology Network (OKPAN): Leveraging University Resources to Serve Historically Excluded Communities” in the journal Advances in Archaeological Practice. OKPAN is a community-engaged arm of the Anthropology Department, which offers many opportunities for faculty, students, alumni, and the public to get involved. The article explains how OKPAN is actively working to serve those communities historically left out of archaeology. The article is part of a special issue and the theme of the issue is "Archaeology as Service," and it features examples of archaeologists serving communities around the world.
