Summary:

The Piers Land Conservancy is a private family foundation that is looking to restore wildlife habitat on their degraded grasslands.  For years, the land was a horse rescue farm with managed Bermuda grass pastures and mowed hay fields.  The Piers board has contracted with the Oklahoma Natural Areas Registry to develop a pollinator habitat enhancement and restoration plan that can be implemented by Piers staff and volunteers. In the summer of 2022, we are evaluating the property and will develop a plan based on the current vegetation and best management practices outlined by the Xerces Society, NRCS, and the Noble Research Institute.
