Registration and Scheduling

To get started with your CLEP exam, please visit the College Board website for registration. It's important to note that registering for the exam and scheduling it with us are two distinct steps. First, you'll want to register for the exam, pay the necessary fee, and print your ticket on the College Board website. Once you've completed that, simply click on the "Schedule Your Exam" button on the right to arrange and pay for your exam appointment with us. This process will ensure you are fully prepared for your exam.

Cost of Exam:

  • $95 on the College Board website for the exam of your choice
  • A $40 fee is paid when scheduling your exam at the testing center

What to bring to your appointment:

  • Valid, current government-issued ID (Driver’s license, passport, passport card, etc.)
    • Military exam takers must bring their military ID.
  • CLEP exam registration ticket

Please note the following:

  • The University of Oklahoma (OU) exclusively recognizes Spanish Language I and II courses, not Spanish Writing: Levels I and II.
  • On CLEP exam day, test takers must leave their calculators outside the testing room.
  •     To enhance your testing experience, calculators are seamlessly integrated into the CLEP exam software for various science and math exams, as well as the Financial Accounting exam.
  • For individuals with learning or physical disabilities, accommodations are readily available. It's essential to contact your test center ahead of time to arrange the necessary support.
  • Keep in mind that you cannot retake an exam of the same title within four months of your initial testing date. If you attempt to retake it within this period, your attempt will be considered invalid, resulting in a canceled score and forfeiture of any fees paid.

Restrictions for OU Students

  • OU only accepts the first score.
  • Students may not take a CLEP exam in a course they are enrolled in after the add/drop period.
  • Students may not take a CLEP exam in a course in which they have earned a grade other than "W."
  • If students take a CLEP exam while in violation of any of these conditions, they will not receive credit.
  • If students are enrolled in a course in which they pass a CLEP exam (prior to the add/drop period), they are responsible for dropping the course.

Score Reports

For scores needed, please reference the OU Office of the Registrar College Level Examination Page. Official results are mailed from CLEP directly to the institution you indicate at the time of the test. You will receive an unofficial score report immediately upon completion of your CLEP exam.
