Aparna Bamzai-Dodson’s perseverance earns her a doctorate
The journey to earning a doctoral degree may have come with challenges, but the moment Aparna heard her name called for hooding during OU’s Spring Commencement, the hard work and sacrifices made were all worth it. Now a graduate from the College of Atmospheric and Geographic Sciences with a Doctorate in Geography and Environmental Stability, the possibilities for Aparna to continue working on her passions are endless.

Reagan Collins Uses Her New Skills to Help Others
Meet Reagan Collins, a Tulsa native who discovered a passion for Occupational Therapy in high school. Not content to spend all her time in the classroom, Reagan put her skills to work early: first as an Albert Schweitzer fellow developing a program to help adults with disabilities learn about eating better with adaptive kitchen implements, then in Kenya to help develop wheelchair modifications for children. She graduates this year with her Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.

Ghazal Ghazi is a Librarian and Artist
Ghazal Ghazi is accustomed to wearing multiple hats. Her love of libraries led her to a job with the Tulsa City-County Library system, then, concurrently, to earn her Masters in Library and Information Science at OU-Tulsa. All this with an eye on another passion: art. This summer, she'll intern at the Library of Congress and after that... the sky is the limit.

Ramona Gibson's Determination Leads to Online M.L.S
Ramona Gibson's story is a wonderful example of never letting life keep you from your goals. Gibson is an energy law master's student utilizing OU's online legal studies program. Her positive outlook on life and refusal to see anything other than a blessing helped propel her to professional and academic success.

Rob Kaiser Takes His Education Back to School
Meet Rob Kaiser, a Tulsa transplant who found his calling in the classroom. Now the principal of Monroe Demonstration Academy in Tulsa, Rob earned his Master’s degree at OU-Tulsa and graduates this year with a Doctorate in Education... with a little help from his Monroe family.

Meet Joshua Riesenberg, a senior hailing from the Weitzenhoffer Family College of Fine Arts graduating with a degree in music. Like many students experiencing college for the first time, Riesenberg was unsure as to what path he should follow. Despite that unsureness, music was always in the periphery for Riesenberg with his background going back to childhood. Fortunately, his passion ultimately drove him to success during his career at the University of Oklahoma.

Lauren Riggs' Heartfelt Cause to Help Others
Lauren Riggs is a human relations major graduating from the Dodge Family College of Arts and Sciences. She initially came to OU with a passion for helping others in a direct way. Riggs' world was changed forever following her diagnosis with Friedreich's Ataxia prior to her senior year. The revelation of having a rare hereditary disorder did not deter Riggs, rather it inspired her to pursue her new-found cause to help others.
