Funding Your Graduate Studies

The type of assistantship available to you will mostly depend on your school.  However, we do offer teaching assistantships through the Gallogly College of Engineering. Other academic units also offer assistantships.

Scholarships are available yearly from schools, from the college, and from other university units, including the Graduate College and many student organizations.  We offer scholarships at the school and college levels in addition to the awards from other units and it is possible to receive multiple awards.

Recruitment fellowships are available from the Gallogly College of Engineering, including the Ph.D. Recruitment Excellence Fellowship and the Graduate College, Alumni and Foundation Recruitment Fellowship, McNair Fellowship and Wethington Graduate Fellowship.  You must apply to these in coordination with your prospective school’s graduate liaison or your faculty advisor. We also offer incentive fellowships for Ph.D. students who are nearing degree completion, including Dissertation Excellence Award – Gallogly College of Engineering; Nancy L. Mergler and Bullard Dissertation Completion Fellowships – Graduate College.

Visit the tuition calculator to see specific information about the costs you can expect. Many of our graduate students hold a qualifying research or teaching assistantship and therefore receive a full tuition waiver, leaving only the fees.  With an assistantship, a typical semester load is 5 to 6 credit hours.
