COBRE funding opportunity for Pilot Project Grants applications

Due Date: November 15, 2024
  • We have exciting news about a funding opportunity! The Oklahoma Center of Medical Imaging for Translational Cancer Research (NIH - P20GM135009) is inviting applications for Pilot Project Grants. This program aims to provide seed funding to help researchers test new hypotheses and generate preliminary data for future extramural research grant applications.
  • Proposals should align with the central research theme of this COBRE, which focuses on translational biomedical imaging science research aimed at improving cancer detection, diagnosis accuracy, or treatment efficacy. This can be achieved by developing and/or applying novel medical imaging techniques (e.g., new investigative imaging systems/tools or procedures) or quantitative imaging markers (e.g., generated using advanced machine learning or artificial intelligence algorithms). All types of studies using retrospective human subject image data, vertebrate animal models, cancer cell line models, and/or dedicated imaging phantoms are accepted.
  • Full-time faculty members from any academic unit on the OU Norman and OUHSC campuses are eligible to apply by meeting the detailed criteria. The application submission deadline is November 15, 2024, and the anticipated project start date is January 1, 2025. Pilot Projects will be awarded at a level of $60,000 in direct costs per year, with each award lasting one year (12 months).
