Syed Ashik Ali is an assistant professor in School of Civil Engineering and Environmental Science at the University of Oklahoma. He received his Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Oklahoma in 2021 and 2016, respectively. Also, he served as a postdoctoral research associate at OU for three years. Previously, he served as a lecturer and assistant professor at the Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) for three years.

His research primarily explores advanced transportation infrastructure materials; recycled and bio-based materials; advanced material characterization techniques and mechanistic design of pavements. Dr. Ali has led a number of externally funded projects as PI and Co-PI. In addition, he was a key team member for winning the funding for the Southern Plains Transportation Center (SPTC), a regional University Transportation Center (UTC) led by OU. His research projects have been instrumental in enhancing mechanistic understanding of performance and distresses of pavements as well as developing guidelines and specifications for Oklahoma Department of Transportation.
