Internships
Valuable experience can be gained by having at least one internship or co-op during your academic career. These opportunities may involve research with faculty members on campus and/or the chance to work in the industry in a position related to chemical engineering. They usually take place in the summer months between the sophomore and junior or the junior and senior years in your curricula.
To help you find opportunities, here is a list of companies that have established internship programs that welcome applications from chemical engineers. You’ll also find information about internships through the OU Career Services website at www.hiresooner.com. As information becomes available about new internship postings, I’ll send an email to undergraduate ChemE students with pertinent information about the opportunity.
