About
Ryan Stoddard is an Associate Professor in the Engineering Pathways Program and a retired Navy Commander. During his 23-year career as a naval aviator, he commanded Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron FOUR, served as Aide to the Secretary of Defense, and logged over 2,500 flight hours. As a civilian, he maintains his Certified Flight Instructor and Remote Pilot credentials and has developed and taught aviation curriculum. He earned a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech and has held leadership roles in both industry and academia, including Systems Engineering Manager at Boeing and Dean of Engineering & Science at Rose State College, with a focus on digital transformation, unmanned aircraft systems, leadership development, and industry–academia alignment.
