As an EP Mentor, you will cultivate a relationship with your protégés for their first semester as an OU Engineer. Mentors will lead mentoring groups, including one or more mentors and a group of protégés.
Mentoring groups will meet weekly to share resources, collaboratively overcome challenges, and create opportunities for academic and personal development throughout the protégés’ first semester. Mentors will also create opportunities for protégés to engage with the broader OU Engineering community, featuring involvement in student organizations, college programs, and other extracurricular events.
Mentors should expect to budget between 5-6 hours per week to complete EP Mentoring Network activities. This role has a minimum one-semester commitment; opportunities to continue service in the role for the full academic year will exist for interested mentors and mentoring groups.
Prospective mentors are selected through a competitive application process, including a short online application, in-person interview with a program faculty or staff member, and an academic reference.
