C. Michael Carolina

C. Michael Carolina

C. Michael Carolina received his master’s degree in environmental science from the University of Oklahoma School of Civil Engineering and Environmental Science in 1971. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University. 

Since 2005, Carolina has been the executive director of the Oklahoma Center for the Advancement of Science and Technology (OCAST)—the state’s agency for technology development, technology transfer and technology commercialization.

In 2001, Carolina retired from AT&T and Lucent Technologies. During his 25-year career with the companies, he held management and executive positions in Oklahoma and New Jersey. He was involved in engineering, interfacing with AT&T on new product design and introduction, technology transfer and joint venture operations in Europe, Asia and Latin America. His management and leadership positions included engineering director at the 40-acre Lucent Technologies facility in Oklahoma City. 

Carolina grew up in Wewoka, Okla. He serves on several boards and advisory committees including the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation; the Governor’s Science and Technology Council; the Oklahoma Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) Advisory Committee; the Center for the Advancement of Science and Mathematics Education in Oklahoma (CASMEO); and the GCOE School of Electrical and Computer Engineering Advisory Board.

Carolina and his wife, Sharon, reside in Edmond.


 


 

 

 

J. Mike Stice

J. Mike Stice

Mike Stice earned his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Oklahoma in 1981, his master’s degree in business in 1995 from Stanford University, and an international director’s diploma from Sydney University in 1997. In 2011, he completed his doctorate of education at George Washington University.

Stice serves as dean of the Mewbourne College of Earth and Energy at the University of Oklahoma. 

Stice worked for more than 25 years in technical and managerial positions with ConocoPhillips, and was president of ConocoPhillips Qatar from 2006 to 2008. In 2009, he joined Chesapeake and served as president of Chesapeake Midstream Development and senior vice president of Natural Gas Projects for Chesapeake Energy. He retired in 2015 as CEO of Access Midstream, formerly Chesapeake Midstream Partners.

Stice serves on the Boards of Directors of Sandridge Energy, U.S. Silica and MarkWest Energy Partners. He is a former member of the Gallogly College of Engineering Board of Visitors. Stice is Chairman of the Foundation Board of Oklahoma Wesleyan University and serves on the Board of Advisors of the Meinders School of Business at Oklahoma City University.

Stice is active in the community, following his passion for enhancing education, beating cancer and contributing to the well-being of children and families with special needs. He currently serves on the Boards of the United Way of Central Oklahoma and Camp Blessing.


 


 

 

 

Nancy Wallace

Nancy Wallace

Nancy Wallace graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1982 with a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering.  In 1999, she received a master’s degree in program and project management from the Keller Graduate School of Business.

Ms. Wallace is retired from Hewlett Packard Enterprise, where she served as the Americas Director of Project Quality and Contracts for Technology Consulting, responsible for insuring the successful delivery of over 750 projects for Fortune 500 customers. Within that role, she was responsible for virtual leadership of approximately 800 program and project managers within HP’s Americas Technology Services organization. She was also an advocate for volunteerism initiatives within HP, and provided pro bono project management services on behalf of HP for non-profit organizations. Her notable past appointments include manufacturing engineering manager and senior customer program manager for Digital Equipment Corporation, practice principal and Mid-Atlantic Consulting manager for Compaq Computer Corporation.

Ms. Wallace currently serves on the Gallogly College of Engineering Board of Visitors as well as the School of Industrial and Systems Engineering Advisory Board.  She is an active supporter of science and engineering education for women and underrepresented groups. She is a former member of the board of directors for the American Indian Science and Engineering Society, a member of the Society for the Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science, and holds professional certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP), six sigma, and as a group exercise instructor.

Ms. Wallace lives in Bethesda, Md., with her husband, Dr. Clifton Poodry and their son Colin.
