Chapter 2  WebStudy  Distance Learning on the World Wide Web
Internet Navigator...  A Simplified Guide to Netscape GOLD

Viewing Webpages

The point of learning Netscape is to view Web Pages. Surfing the Web (as it is called) is a recent activity. Previously when one sat in front of a computer there was little if any interactivity. The user simply sat...., located files and word processed or image processed. When finished, the user would copy the file (or files) and send it to the client or friend, and that was about all.

The Web gives the user "places to go" and "things to see". Computing will never be the same again. Currently, there are literally millions of Web Pages to View..., and this is only the beginning! Eventually, the Web will be the computer..., that is, the composition of the Web will contain the "body of knowledge" and the user will access any necessary information from the Web directly.

Web Pages will serve as the multi-media platform from which all useful information is obtained.

As you have read in previous Chapters viewing a Web Page is a simple matter (thus the popularity). By typing the URL Address in the Location field..., the user can access information from within the same server or any server in the world with just a "mouse click".
